2009 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue
Celebrity Spotlight, Fashion & Style, Sports & Games February 11th, 2009
Sports Illustrated just released their 2009 Swimsuit Issue. With so many hotties to choose from, it was hard to find one to feature here on Kineda, but Slovak model Lucia Dvorska seemed to do the trick.
Lucia Dvorska, 20, grew up in a village in western Slovakia, called Zohor. Despite appearing in a television commercial as a child, she didn’t start modeling until age 16. She has appeared on the covers of Vogue, Elle, L’Officiel, Madam Figaro and Harper’s Bazaar. Lucia splits her time between New York, Slovakia and Brazil. This is her first appearance in the Swimsuit Issue.

Howard Bach Featured in Men’s Health
Fashion & Style, Sports & Games June 26th, 2008
I just received my July/August 2008 issue of Men’s Health in the mail this morning. I flipped through it quickly as usual, but something caught my eye that made me do a double take. It was none another than 2005 World Badminton Double’s Champion Howard Bach, featured as one of ten Top American Olympic Athletes.
Now why would I be so excited to see Howard Bach in Men’s Health? It’s because Badminton rarely gets the mainstream media attention other sports do in the U.S. like Tennis, Basketball or even Golf. The average sports junkie probably thinks Badminton is just a fluffy backyard game played during picnics.
Real players know though, that Badminton is a serious sport. Birdies have been clocked at speeds of 200mph. That’s faster than a tennis serve and faster than a pitcher can throw a ball in baseball. Much faster. It’s a sport that requires extreme endurance, agility, strength and speed. Don’t believe me? Google a badminton gym in your neighborhood and play a game of singles with the local pro. He’ll have you fumbling around like an idiot, and exhausted in no time.

Xbox 360 sending out disruptive 2.4GHz vibes?
Gear & Gadgets, Sports & Games December 16th, 2007

Details are sketchy at the moment, but some IT folks at Morrisville State College have tracked down a strong and disruptive signal being emitted from Xbox 360s, which messes with WiFi and possibly other 2.4GHz radios such as Bluetooth headsets. The signal is put out even when the console is turned off, as long as it’s plugged in, since the 360 is continually looking for controllers to hook up with. Research is ongoing as to how much interference the 360 is actually causing, but apparently the signal is jumping all over the 2.4GHz band. Of course, 2.4GHz devices have always had a bit trouble with interference, but further research will tell if the 360 is taking things too far.
