Doesn’t Nintendo know we’ve got a bit of a weight problem going on over here Stateside? The company just released its highly-anticipated Wii Fit in Japan today, which will most likely sell like gangbusters, while simultaneously symbolizing the death of the hardcore gamer in Nintendo land to a small portion of the faithful not completely won over by Miyamoto’s latest charming contraption. Unfortunately, the Wii Fit won’t be crossing any oceans until early next year. Nintendo’s official Japan street date for Wii Fit was December 1st, but it seems that at least a few online shops are disregarding that pesky fact.

When it comes to the illustrious E at Equinox in Manhattan, calling it a “gym” doesn’t quite do it justice. This high-end fitness center offers everything from private cabanas and spas to rooftop patios and dining areas serving gourmet food. Equipment is always cutting edge, like their aromatherapy treadmills that release rejuvenating wafts of orange essence. Plush concierge services are also offered, along with a personal manager that keeps track of your progress and schedules workout sessions.

No need to every worry about every waiting in line to use an elliptical, because this gym allows no more than 200 members to join. Of course, such exclusiveness comes at a price. A yearly membership will run you $23,500.

Do you have a family member who strives to make people understand the importance of early detection? If so, Yoplait® and Susan G. Komen for the Cure want to know about them. On September 19, both organizations announced the search for the 2008 Yoplait Champions, ordinary individuals doing extraordinary things in the fight against breast cancer. The search compliments Yoplait’s sustained commitment to the breast cancer cause through their signature Save Lids to Save Lives® program, and is a way to connect influencers to the breast cancer issue.

Every individual effort matters in this fight and select women and men across the country are proving to be true champions of the breast cancer cause in their communities. Nominees must have a strong commitment to the breast cancer cause and have made an impact on others’ lives or the community. Nominations are open between now and November 6, 2007 at www.yoplait.com.

“We want to bring together women and men who are helping others get through breast cancer through their actions and kindness,” said Camille Gibson, Vice President of Yoplait. “It is an honor to connect these intelligent and persevering minds, to help them exchange ideas and increase their potential to assist others. We hope the Champions’ stories will inspire women and men across the country to take action.”

“Bottled or tap?” is the often asked question at high-end restaurants, but soon the question will be “tap, bottled, or elegantly bottled?” Evian is making a big splash in Canada with its new “Palace” bottle design. Designed to make a lasting impact, the sleeker bottle comes with it’s own Palace pourer that offers an “elite hydration experience” for the contemporary consumer.

“The Palace Bottle has been designed to represent the modern vision of Evian while maintaining a strong tie to our heritage in the French Alps,” says Michael Thouin, brand manager, Evian Canada. “We also created a unique pouring instrument called the Palace pourer, the first of its kind for the bottled water industry, designed to deliver on both form and function to provide a true luxury water experience.”

The new design will be featured in select hotels, high-end restaurants, and clubs throughout the country.

Elite luxury water for $15 to $20 a bottle! Does it really get any more ridiculous bling than this?

What I love most about Wild Bunch & Co besides the health benefits is their exquisite packaging that was designed by Seed Creative in the U.K. With so much competition in the boutique juice industry, it definitely pays to stand out.

Researchers in Germany also say that drinking two to three glasses of cloudy apple juice (unfiltered) per day may help keep colon cancer at bay.

Even actresses brown-bag it. Jennifer Lopez, the most influential Hispanic entertainer in America, brings meals to the recording studio, while completing her fifth English studio album.

Her enchilada recipe: Combine 4 oz cooked shredded chicken breast, 1/4 light sour cream, 2 tbsp shredded lowfat Chipotle cheese, 1/4 cup pico de gallo, and 1/8 cup enchilada sauce in a bowl. Place the mixture on a whole-wheat tortilla. Roll up and put in a microwave-safe portable dish.

Pour 1/8 cup enchilada sauce on top and sprinkle with a bit more cheese to your liking. At lunchtime, microwave on high for 3 minutes.

One of J.Lo’s enchiladas has 10 grams of fiber and a mere 200 calories.
