Sony Ericsson’s MBW-200 Bluetooth watches for sporty she-geeks

Sony Ericsson’s MBW-200 Bluetooth watches

When a press release is laced with words like “handbag,” “sophisticated,” and “vibrates,” it’s clearly targeting the fairer sex. Sony Ericsson’s new MBW-200 watches display caller ID and rumble on the wrist when a call comes in to your Bluetooth connected cellphone. You can then reject or mute the call directly from the watch. The Fossil designed, glare- and scratch-resistant time keepers come in three versions — Sparkling Allure, Contemporary Elegance and Evening Classic. Each is modeled above by three tennis players for not so obvious reasons. Available in Q4 for an undisclosed price. A few more pics after the break.

According to recent statistics, girls can like, totally rock now. Thankfully, PDP has teamed up with Radio Disney mainstays Aly & AJ to create some seriously rockin’ game controllers for the PS2 and Wii. Due out mid-October and priced at a rockin’ $69.99, tweenage Guitar Hero and Rock Band fans can choose either the rockin’ pink Strat-looking guitar with red skull and crossbones motif, or the totally rockin’ pink heart-shaped guitar with purple zebra print. Check out the rockin’ video after the break. And rock on!

Samsung’s freakishly large Haptic 2 touchscreen phones

Samsung's freakishly large Haptic 2 touchscreen phones

Forget everything you know about perspective, Samsung’s Haptic 2 is clearly one huge-ass handset. Amazing that the jumbo-handed product waif on the left can even hoist the beast without so much as a grimace. Otherwise, Samsung’s newest fullscreen device looks every bit the hot Korean cousin to the i900 Omnia. The Haptic 2 followup to the original Haptic features DMB television, 4GB (SCH-W550 or SPH-W5500, about $600) or 16GB (SCH-W555, about $690) of storage, integrated mobile banking, and improved (more sensitive) 3.2-inch touchscreen and an updated TouchWiz UI now sporting 50 widget applications (up from 15) and user defined vibration tones — whoa, better beef up security for the Korean launch Sammy.

LG set to release WWAN-enabled X110 Momo netbook

LG X110 Momo netbook

LG doesn’t look to be pushing the envelope all that hard with its netbook entry — are you sick of 10-inch screens, 1.6GHz Atom processors, and Windows XP yet? — but the company’s X110 Momo looks to up the ante ever so slightly with a built-in HSUPA modem and a slightly reconfigured keyboard with bigger arrow keys and a full-size right shift key. No pricing or availability yet, but we’ll take LG at its word when it says the Momo is “coming soon.”

Samsung’s 8-megapixel Pixon gets official, ships in mid-October

Fashion & Style, Gear & Gadgets September 29th, 2008

Samsung Pixon

Samsung was content with teasing us all weekend long, but it has finally seen fit to officially reveal its next 8-megapixel handset, the Pixon. Boasting a 3.2-inch touchscreen, 13.8-millimeter thin design and an inbuilt camera with Auto Focus, face detection and geotagging, the handset clearly emphasizes the importance of taking a few photos each and everyday. Sammy has confessed that the currently unpriced mobile will start shipping in around a fortnight for those in France, while most other European / Asian countries will see it shortly. As for North America? Take a wild guess.

T-Mobile G1

T-Mobile G1

Google’s new T-Mobile G1 ($179) is the first phone to run Google’s new Android mobile operation system. It may be the first real competitor to Apple’s iPhone. Like Apple’s product, it’s a serious handheld computer with a clever touch-based user interface. Similar to Apple’s App Store for the iPhone, the G1 will be able to access the Android Market for 3rd part apps.

The phone sports a 3-inch touchscreen, a slide-out QWERTY keypad, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and a 3-megapixel camera. It will be sold in the U.S. starting next month by T-Mobile, for $179 with a two-year contract.
