News flash! Diddy has finally named the Making the Band 4 group as Day 26. Not sure the meaning behind it yet, but I’ll get to the bottom of it.
*Update*
The name comes from the date the group was announced: August 26, 2007. Day 26’s first single is entitled “Got Me Going,” and can be heard on the bands new MySpace page.
Jenny Musitano is prepping to release her Spring 2008 Yours Truly “Girls Play” Collection. The new line is playfully colorful and will be on sale in select stores next month!

It’s turning into quite the day for shuffle aficionados. Apple just slash the price on its 1GB iPod shuffle this AM to a very palatable $49, and now the company is pushing a brand new 2GB version out the door for $69. The color selections will be the same as little brother, including a (PRODUCT) RED version. It’ll be available later this month.

According to man-about-town, Robert X. Cringely, Samsung is readying not one, but two separate Android-based phones, one of which is due in September, with another model following around Christmas. If you believe what you read (and what his tipster says), these phones will not be labeled Samsung, rather they will be released as Google-branded gPhones. The model released in the Fall will be a “higher-end” model which apparently looks “somewhat like a Blackberry Pearl” but with a screen that flips and “a keyboard for texting” (though to be honest, that description makes little sense, as the Pearl has a keyboard). The second device will be a cheaper model (under $100), and will likely be released after the holidays. Of course, right now this is just speculation — given the large gap of time between now and September, these plans could be completely rearranged or nixed altogether… even if they are accurate.

If Charice Pempengo were allowed to compete on American Idol, she’d blow the socks off every competitor. No joke. This 15-year-old Filipina singing sensation is blowing up in the Philippines and Korea with her unbelievable performances of Whitney Houston’s hit, “I Will Always Love You” and Dreamgirls anthem, “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going.”
It’s rumored that she’s in talks with talks with Clive Davis, Chairman and CEO of RCA Music Group to be signed to a record deal. If he’s smart, he won’t pass up on this soon to be international superstar. Don’t believe me? Watch the videos and judge for yourself.
Thanks to reader Andre Pascual for the tip.

It’s about time they gave this girl some lovin!
Think big voices don’t come in small packages? Think again. Ramiele Malubay auditioned in Miami for American Idol Season 7, and her powerful voice made quite an impression on the judges.
The 19-year-old Filipina cutie chose “Natural Woman” by Aretha Franklin for her audition. A pretty bold choice, but it was definitely worth it. Ramiele Malubay’s performances placed her within the final fifty competitors.
Now let’s hope Ramiele becomes part of the Top 24 next week!

Kaba Modern has been making quite the buzz with their kickass audition on America’s Best Dance Crew. The dance team has received 180,000+ views and 700+ comments of their performance on YouTube in less than a week.

Of the six member crew, one particular member is gaining quite the fan following – Yuri Tag. With a constant barrage of comments about her cute looks not only on YouTube, but on our very own post of the crew, it’s not hard to see that she’s a fan favorite.

The 22-year-old Irvine, California native started dancing at the young age of five from the recommendation of her doctor. In 2005, she took things a bit more seriously and joined UC Irvine dance crew Kaba Modern. The crew has been making a name for themselves in global competitions for years now, including a first place trophy from the USA World Hip-Hop Championship.
“THANK YOU SO MUCH TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE BEEN SHOWING US SO MUCH LOVE AND SUPPORT! IT REALLY GETS US THROUGH THE LONG STRESSFUL NIGHTS OF PRACTICE AND CONTINUALLY PUSHES US TO GROW EVEN MORE!!! I CAN’T EVEN EXPRESS HOW MUCH GRATITUDE I FEEL IN MY HEART RIGHT NOW BUT JUST KNOW THAT I WOULDN’T BE WHERE I AM WITHOUT YOU ALL!
much <3 & respect, yuri tag “
With a spot in the final twelve crews, it’s Yuri’s chance to shine and become a breakout star. She’s definitely got Kineda’s support! America’s Best Dance Crew premieres Thursday, Feb. 7th @ 10PM ET/PT.

American Idol Judge Randy Jackson is rocking the screens of MTV with a new competitive group dance series “America’s Best Dance Crew.” The official premier begins on Thursday, February 7 at 10pm ET/PT, but last night was the live two hour casting show.
Each dance crew of five to seven members demonstrated their most innovative choreography, for a chance to compete on the official show.
The dance crew that caught my eye was Kaba Modern (Yuri Tag, Tony Tran, Mike Song, Lawrence Kao, Cindy Minowa, Jia Huang) from Orange County, CA. I loved their great isolations, and popping moves. The six member group was in sync at all times with very tight and unique choreography. I especially liked their imitation of loading shotguns for the kill!
Kaba Modern members include:

“I first started dancing when I was five (because the doctor recommended it to my mom) but I did not start taking it seriously until 2005. That’s when I realized it was my passion.”

“Mr. Wiggles influenced me. Started dancing in 2003.”

“I started dancing after I saw a bible study teacher at my church popping at one of our church retreats. My dance career started when I entered a talent contest in LA with a group of high school friends.”

“My dancing career started my first year in college. I went to a collegiate scene competition called Vibe and was inspired to become a dancer.”

“As a young girl, I actually wanted to be an actress at first. My father was the one who suggested to have me in dance classes to be well-rounded as an actress. I hated dance my first year, however my mother knew that she had to keep me in classes. My second year is when I started to love dancing.”

“Started dancing ballet at age ten because my best friend was doing it too.”
